Ben was by all accounts a genius from the day he was born. Born into a Jewish family, he exhibited intelligence beyond his peers and his years. Not surprisingly, he was to become a pioneer of value investing, the art of buying assets at a price less than its intrinsic value. The volumes of codified knowledge on investing as written painstakingly down in the consecutive versions of the security analysis, if you will read them, if you will digest them, if you will reflect on them, just would make one a better investor without a doubt. This is it right here. I am living the life I want. Oh! The annual reports. The daily chatter in my mind of earnings, assets, balance sheets and dividends. I start to love my life again immediately. I was born to do this! I love counting and the deepest echoes of my soul tell me this : That I Am Aware Once Again.

Beating the markets is beating the herd mentality.T he intelligent investor is a great book to start reading for amateur investors. The book is rich in quantitative data but readers may find it hard to swallow as the language is written with a terse archaic style. But what the book does not touch on is how to be an emotionally intelligent investor and beat the herd mentality. While numbers are easy to handle, one's emotions can prove to be an inconquerable mountain like Everest. And for most of us, this may very well be the final obstacle to being an investor great.
